Thursday!

Today's sessions were on compensation and calibration, error proofing, regulations, and materials/chemistry testing. All were pretty interesting. C&C is completely different here. It sounds excellent on paper so I'm hoping it actually works for me. This method would definitely have helped with a few issues I had in my last job. They do rankings in the spring and then focus on development plans in the fall. I'm excited about having one for once.

The error proofing and LEAN stuff was pretty basic but the instructors had very good examples and activities to illustrate their points so it was a lot less boring than previous LEAN lessons. It was also good to learn more about the roadblocks particular to this industry.

After lunch, we met over at another building for a tour of our chemistry lab so we know a little about what tests are run regularly and what we might want to request sometime. Then we got brief sessions on domestic and international regulatory organizations and how our various products fit in.

We got out late and I took a nice nap so didn't really get much done this afternoon. Right now I'm just waiting for 9 and the season premiere of Supernatural. It's been a long summer.
