A new guy started in our office today. We're going to be doing very similar jobs, they just haven't decided who is covering what. It was strange being an expert compared to him with my week's seniority. I could tell him where the coffee was and I'll be taking him with me into the clean room tomorrow.
I was going to spend most of today there but had a meeting in the morning (in which I learned quite a bit about gator wrestling and what you can do with one after you kill it). We then went out to lunch for the new guy (an excellent Mexican restaurant between the used book stores near Target and the crafty stores. I will be going back.
After lunch, I went back in the stent winding room and they put me to work. It is hard and took me way too long (and my final piece was no where near production quality) but I made one of each of the two pieces. I didn't have time for the connection and sewing steps (thankfully, I'd embarrassed myself enough for the day). I was told I wasn't allowed to take my creations out of the building so I can't show them off and they'll have to live on my desk. They don't really look so bad so I'm proud.
I met with my mortgage lady after work to hand over a pile of documents and sign stuff. She was very nice and kept apologizing for babbling (she'd been at work since 4:30 am) but I was ok with it since her babbling took the form of overexplaining everything, which I kind of need.
The other excitement of the day was Shantastic discovering that the SJ PO didn't process my change of address form and my mail carrier had ignored several notes and the ever growing pile by my box. I called to yell and got things straightened out for the future and Shantastic stopped in to yell and drop off the massive pile. They're sending it express which apparently means friday or saturday. I really should have called to double check.

Woo! Mail!
So does having a mortgage lady mean you've found yourself a new home?
