Graduation

For our last day of class, we got an overview of our company's overall structure and a very brief section on sterilization (mostly over my head, it's been a long time since biology). Before lunch, we met with reviewers again to go over protocols. After lunch, we discussed what we liked and didn't like about the last 4 weeks. This training has been 7 weeks in the past so they had to cut and condense a lot. I'm glad we didn't have to stick around the extra time but being guinea pigs wasn't particularly fun.

We played a couple of review/trivia games (I got to be an answer for being 1 of 2 people to close on a house this month) before getting our diplomas. There was even some humming of Pomp and Circumstance. Our final act as students was to raid the snack table for leftovers (with permission, we even got to take some of the decorations since training will be moving to a new facility. I snatched a framed picture for Carol).

I celebrated by taking going grocery shopping and then taking a nap. After the nap, I met Moe and Karen downtown for Flag's Art Walk and a bluegrass group's concert at a pool hall. We didn't actually get to see much by the time we finished eating though. We did stop to decorate our own candles though (Moe wanted one for his mom and Karen and I were peer pressured into making one also).

We tried to meet a couple of Moe's friends in a bar after dinner but they wouldn't take Karen's UK driver's license (passports only for some reason) so we went straight to the pool hall to wait for them. The group was called Bears and Bees and were very good. Karen was fascinated by the fact that one of the women played a saw for some of the songs. I have pictures on my phone but haven't figured out how to get them off yet. Overall, it was a very fun evening.
