The quality engineers from my building and the one next door met this morning to go over the various areas we need to cover so now we have some direction on where to focus. I'm pretty happy with my commitments (what we call assignments here). I'll be the contact for final product testing which will give me some good experience with the product and its design. I also have a couple of manufacturing sections covered by a process engineer I've been hanging out with. She'll be good to work with.
After work, I finished up my packing and drove down to Phoenix. The drive started off gorgeous with the setting sun over the mountains but driving in the dark on the twisty roads and through construction wasn't so much fun. I had dinner at a Cornish pasty restaurant Matt recommended (since someone never came through on a promise to cook). I'm watching the American Life on Mars pilot now before I crash.
