Sledding

Tim organized a sledding trip for us tonight. We went to Thorpe Park. We hiked there last spring. It looked like this then. It was a lot darker and snowier today. Tim, Jill, Matt, Justin, Mike, Megan, Mo, me, Karel, and Matt:
We hiked a lot farther up than I was expecting. It was tricky. If you missed the path, you could end up with snow past your knees.

The view was pretty nice though:
Once we made it to the spot Tim named as our start point, one of the guys pulled Jill down to form an initial trail, which was improved as we ran into trees or rolled. I was very snowy by the end.

Justin trying to stay upright:

Karel and Tim set up a bar:
Megan joined them but ended up attempting to start a war:
Mo hitting a tree:

Matt starting Jill off:

Karel's exploding snowball (Justin is fixing our path):

Karel having trouble getting back to us after wandering off:

Matt on his way down:

My turn:

Matt, Jill, and Megan in the bar:

Jill and Mo attempting a 2 sled/person run (the four girls tried a longer train but only made it halfway (if that) before we crashed and had to continue down individually):

Matt taking a break:

The end of our trail (I made it all the way a couple of times):
We stayed out until our toes were frozen. Then most of us took one last run down (in pairs, we only had 4 sleds) (definitely the best run since we didn't have to walk all the way back up).

I came home to a very long hot shower and hot chocolate which warmed me up nicely.

Looks fun! That pic up through the trees is very cool.
