Percussion exhibition

Flagstaff has a percussion ensemble that is trying to get to Dayton for a competition so they held an exhibition/competition yesterday for other Arizona groups. Susan was also a band geek in high school so we went to support them.

It was a lot of fun. The kids were very impressive, especially the middle school team (the only group which went with pure percussion, no computers, no bass, no plugging anything in (Susan and I didn't really approve of all the extras)). I enjoyed watching the bells and xylophones (my area the year I was in marching band). Heritage's percussion ensemble didn't march but I can't imagine them dressing up like ghosts or whatever for performances. Mr. Valasek would have had fun though (I'm picturing Federation uniforms).
