On a more positive note, knitting afternoon went well. Karel's officemate, Tim (who lives right around the corner) came over with his girlfriend (and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies). I also had Matt, Justin, and Megan (who also brought cookies). Megan finished up her cabled scarf for her friend. Justin ended up putting together my laundry shelves while putting off deciding what to do about the hat he'd made for Megan. Using something other than the pattern recommended yarn didn't work out very well for him and it's a bit big. He's pulled it out once already to make it shorter but the the circumference is still larger than Megan's head.
It does make a nice cover for my tulips though:

The movie for this week was Return of the Jedi (which Megan and Matt had never seen (which is crazy)). We put in the wrong disc though so ended up with the 'improved' one. Once it was done, we put it the original version to watch the Ewok song. I don't mind most of the special effects upgrades but the actual content changes are annoying.
We'll be watching the Princess Bride in 2 weeks, when Matt gets back from his trip to LA. He's never seen it either. Which makes me wonder if he actually graduated from college. Isn't it a requirement? He didn't understand at all why Megan and I giggled when Vadar said 'as you wish' to the Emperor (aw, he loves him).

Ugh. I've had those runs where everything I touch ends up busted. It's ridiculous how it always happens all at once.
I like the addition of Hayden's ghost at the end of Jedi; to me it makes sense to have it be the younger Anakin because the old man in the suit was never a Jedi - he was always a Sith. But I feel you on the Ewok song. It still pisses me off, as much as I like the Coruscant sequences that have been added.
Seeing Hayden just made me feel more sorry for the actor who played Darth Vader. First they took away his voice, then one of his only 2 scenes in the entire trilogy.
I can understand the logic of showing the celebrating across the galaxy at the end of Jedi but they really shouldn't have changed the Ewok song. The new version is horrible.
No Priness Bride!?! How can that be!!! I'm shocked you're still friends with him after a revelation like that!
After that and the RotJ reveal, I almost had to kick him out. Fortunately, he's willing to fill the wholes in his (inferior) movie education.
