Catch up

I'd been avoiding admitting I had a cold for a few days but was forced to acknowledge it thursday when a sore throat hit and I spent all afternoon not falling asleep at my desk (I hope). I took a long nap after work but woke up in time for the tech to come put in the official valve on my hot water heater. His fix worked through my shower friday morning but there was only cold water yesterday. I went over to Michelle's to borrow their shower and get a tour of their newly painted home. It looks much better now (the previous owners had some weird ideas about color).

The guy came back to look at my heater that afternoon and the pilot lit right away for him. It didn't stay lit, however, (then or any time after) so I dropped by Michelle's again this morning. I'm really hoping I can convince the warranty people that I need a replacement of the whole unit.

I spent the afternoon replacing power outlets and switches. I'm going to have to do some investigating on which our GFCI outlets and then have Mike over to help me put some in where they're missing. The new stuff looks really nice and it all works so I was pretty happy.

Mike and Jeremy went to Phoenix for a motorcross(?) race last night so the girls went out to dinner and watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with take out desserts.

I cleaned this morning, trying to get my kitchen moved back out of the garage. I didn't finish but did get everything to a point where I wasn't ashamed to have my knitting group over. Megan is trying out cables on a scarf and she has her boyfriend, Justin, working on a cabled hat (her scarf is a gift so she's on a deadline). Another guy from work, Karel, came also to learn how to make a scarf. He picked it really quickly. My still non-working overhead light in my living room (replacing the bulbs and switch hadn't fixed it) annoyed Justin enough that he pulled out my ladder (still in my kitchen, my clean up is not speedy) and played with the chains. Annoyingly, this worked (I'd assumed, since they hadn't been touched, they didn't need to be pulled to get light). It's really nice to not have to depend on my table lamps though.

I think that four showers at other people's houses counts as needing a new one! Figure out how many miles you are driving for this stuff, then call up the warranty people and say you are going to charge them mileage, your hourly work rate (since you have to get up early for work to gedt a shower in) and if they aren't careful, you will rent a hotel froom to shower in, because your house is not livable in this condition.

Give them heck girl! and YAY for cleaning!

I know I owe you an email but I've been meaning to double check: did you get the Angel sets safely?

I can't believe you're still having to take showers elsewhere! Darn warranty company!
