Craftiness in Sedona

Michelle and I drove down to Sedona on saturday. Our missions were to find the quilting and yarn shops. The quilt store was really nice. We picked up a list of classes and a jelly roll each. I really shouldn't be adding to my list of projects but couldn't resist the fabric and the pre-cutness. We're going to take over Michelle's crafty room next weekend and make each other work.

The quilt shop also has a room where they sell local crafts on commission. Once I finish my knitting to do list, I think I'm going to call and talk to them about selling baby sweaters.

We tried for the knit shop next but they weren't open so we continued on to the library where they were hosting a quilt show. The Sedona library is gorgeous with lots of light and cathedral ceilings so their main room was perfect for hanging the quilts. There are some very talented people in the area (and some crazies, one of the more beautiful examples was made up of 9 thousand something pieces and had taken 420 hours to make).

While leaving the library, we called Mike to ask if he wanted to meet us with the kids for dinner. While we waited, we explored Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh, apparently)
. It calls itself an arts and crafts village but it's way more upscale than that implies. It was a beautiful place to wander, however, as long as you're not actually looking to buy anything.

We did find some very cool new lawn furniture though. The chairs were a lot more comfortable than they look.

We also scoped out restaurants in the 'village' so we'd be ready for the rest of the M&M family. The kids were pretty happy with our choice (or they just enjoyed making goofy smiles).

You should soooo start selling your baby sweaters. You're amazing at them!

My cousin's wife has a pile up in Michigan. She was going to take them to some local shops but I needed a name and business cards. I came up with a name but haven't had much luck finding anyone artistic for logos and websites and stuff. Then my knitting list got out of control.

I think you should try the shop we saw. Your sweaters are way cuter than the ones currently in the store.

I know a million people in design. Let me know if you want me to hook you up with someone to work on graphics with you. The one I think might be the best fit is at superbadfriend.blogspot.com if you want to check her out.

Oh and do you know monkeypants from TWoP's Doctor Who forum? I know she's on ravelry and always trying to get me to sign up. I have her as a contact on flickr so you can check out some of the stuff she's made.
