One of Connie's nieces in Cincinnati collects pop tabs for her girl scout troop (the tabs are made of a higher grade of aluminum and are worth more than the can). They then donate them to the Ronald McDonald House where they will help pay for chemo for kids (1 gallon equals 1 session). I've badgered all of my friends here enough that they started setting them aside for me and, after explaining what they were for, got some from the flight attendants on both my Phoenix/O'Hare legs.

I always wondered why it was the tabs specifically that were collected. I didn't know about the metal difference. Cool!
We had to look it up. Just the pop tab didn't seem to add up to much.
