I wasn't sure how the trim along the steps would turn out. I drove Shannon a bit crazy discussing options. I love what we (she) came up with. For comparison, this is what they looked like when I first looked at the house (by the time I moved in, they'd painted everything an annoying pinkish-tan).

The stairs look amazing. I can't wait to see it in person. Do you need to add a hand rail still?
I haven't decided on the hand rail yet. I'm not sure if I need one and if it would look ok crossing over the higher balusters.
Very, very nice! Much sturdier looking than the earlier photo I commented on. Also, much nicer than the early 80's inspired before photo. Your contractor did a great job. Kudos to him.
The stairs don't appear to be steep, so you may not need the lower handrail. Unless you have balance issues.
