Stairwell Lights

When I moved in, there was one light in the stairwell to the master bedroom. It didn't work but was too high for me to check the bulb. The electrician tracked down the problem with one of the switches (a very early version of wireless with a dead battery) before taking it down and replacing it with a couple of pendant lights. He also replaced the switches at the head and foot of the stairs and in the master bedroom so everything works the way someone would expect (he took a couple of wiring pictures to show to his electrician friends. Whoever finished the attic did not know what they were doing).
