Big Red in Ice

Lake Michigan was 82.3% covered in ice as of earlier this week (we've had a couple of warmer, rainy days since then so it's probably less now). I've been meaning to drive out to Holland's lighthouse for a while but the weather hasn't cooperated. Today, however, was perfect (if you ignore the fact that it was extremely cold and windy). I was not the only one who recognized the opportunity which meant avoiding people in my pictures was difficult but I also didn't have to worry about finding someone to call 911 if I fell (it was very slippery).
